Gearing up for the November election, The Village Square is diving into three of the six constitutional amendments on the ballot (2, 3 and 4). The amendments, if passed by a 60% supermajority, will be added into the Florida constitution. Join us as our panelists discuss the pros and cons of increasing the minimum wage, opening up the state’s primary system, and introducing an additional election cycle for prospective constitutional amendments.

Programming during the pandemic is made possible by a recovery grant from the Knight Foundation, through the Community Foundation of North Florida and a CARES grant from Florida Humanities with the support of National Endowment for the Humanities. We are deeply grateful for their support.

Amendment 2 proposes increasing the minimum wage to $15 per hour by 2026, Amendment 3 allows all voters regardless of party affiliation to vote in primary elections for certain state-level races, and Amendment 4 would require that proposed constitutional amendments get 60 percent approval in two separate elections to pass.
