The Village Square Hosts 6th Annual ‘Tallahassee Town Hall’
in partnership with Leadership Tallahassee, Tallahassee Democrat and WFSU
(TALLAHASSEE, FL) – February 19, 2018 – If you want to participate in civic life in Tallahassee but aren’t interested in preparing a 3-minute speech for a commission meeting, what options do you have? On Thursday, February 22 at WFSU Studios, citizens will have a rare opportunity to speak informally with both Leon County and City of Tallahassee Commissioners.
“OUR TOWN: Tallahassee Town Hall” once again will be moderated by the Tallahassee Democrat’s Publisher Skip Foster. This 6th annual program pairs commissioners from both the city and the county for a cross-governmental discussion about where Tallahassee is as a community, where we’re going, and what challenges we face in getting there. Scheduled to join the conversation from Leon County are Commissioners John Dailey, Bryan Desloge, Kristin Dozier, Jimbo Jackson, Mary Ann Lindley, and Nick Maddox; and from the City of Tallahassee are Commissioners Nancy Miller, Curtis Richardson, and Gil Ziffer.
The Town Hall program is a continuation of an ongoing series of unique local forums sponsored by The Village Square, a nonprofit formed by local leaders from both sides of the political divide to improve civility and promote civil discourse among community members.
The Town Hall will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the WFSU studio, 1600 Red Barber Plaza. It is free and open to the public, but advance reservation is requested as space is limited.
