Political Rivals.
Real Friends.
They are not enemies, but friends. But boy do they disagree. John Wood is a conservative who ran for Congress. Ciaran O’Connor is a liberal who worked for two presidential candidates. These two real life friends and colleagues disagree on big things that matter. But working side-by-side with Braver Angels — an organization devoted to bringing reds and blues together to heal division — they’ve learned that mutual respect and a good sense of humor gets them through even the toughest policy disagreements. If that doesn’t work, they’ve been seen on occasion singing a Hamilton broadway duet.
John and Ciaran will be at FSU on Monday, March 24th as the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy launches the Friendly Disagreement Series, conversations between friends who don’t look or think alike but make disagreement a powerful tool to achieve a more perfect union.
