Self-Interest, Self-Help, Selfish?
The social civic structure of our parents and grandparents world was vastly more connected in hometowns across America than ours is today. Busily pursuing personal goals, today we often find ourselves spinning inside our own bubbles, disconnected with the circumstances of the community around us. So as this geography-based community is on the wane, how has it affected how we human beings behave with each other? If it’s not in our self-interest, is there anything we give to? Does modern society expect anything of people, beyond behaving to further their own ends?
