Let's Do Democracy

Gearing up for the November election, The Village Square is diving into three of the six constitutional amendments on the ballot. The amendments, if passed by a 60% supermajority, will be added into the Florida constitution. Join us as our panelists discuss the pros and cons of increasing the minimum wage, opening up the state’s primary system, and introducing an additional election cycle for prospective constitutional amendments.

Facilitating the conversation will be Dr. Carol Weissert, Director at the LeRoy Collins Institute for Public Policy and Professor of Political Science at Florida State University.

Joining the discussion:
Dr. Frank Alcock, Director of Academic Initiatives & Special Projects and Professor of Political Science & Environmental Studies at New College of Florida.
Patricia Brigham, President of The League of Women Voters of Florida.
Dr. Adrian Moore, Vice President of Policy at Reason Foundation.
Robert Weissert, Executive Vice President & Counsel to the President & CEO at Florida TaxWatch
