Join Skip Foster on Jan. 13 at 1pm as he speaks with Dr. Paul Spearman, director of the Division of Infectious Diseases at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and Dr. Geeta Swamy, Associate Vice President for Research, Duke University about vaccine development and safety.

Joining the conversation:
Dr. Paul Spearman, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center

Dr. Paul Spearman is the director of the Division of Infectious Diseases at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Spearman has worked with vaccines since the 1980’s, when he was leading HIV clinical vaccine trials. He (and his team) are currently developing virus-like particle vaccines for Ebola, HIV and SARS-CoV-2. He currently serves on the Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee (VRBPAC) of the Food and Drug Administration.

Dr. Geeta Swamy, Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare and Capital Health Plan

Dr. Geeta Swamy is the Associate Vice President for Research at Duke University. She is also an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Duke University’s School of Medicine. he currently serves as the Co-Principal Investigator for the NIH-NIAID Vaccine Treatment and Evaluation (VTEU) and CDC-funded Clinical Immunization Safety Assessment. She also has extensive experience in research relating to perinatal infections and preterm birth.
